Venna Melinda Domestic Violence Case, Ferry Irawan Sued 1.5 Years In Prison

KEDIRI - The public prosecutor charged the defendant in the case of domestic violence (KDRT) Ferry Irawan with a sentence of one year and six months in prison.

The public prosecutor of the Kediri City Prosecutor's Office, Yuni Priyono, stated that the 1.5-year prison sentence was studied from the element of the indictment which was proven valid and convincing.

"This was the agenda of the trial for the reading of the indictment from the public prosecutor. That in the indictment, the point is that the team believes that the elements of the indictment charged by the defendant are proven to be legal and convincing according to the law. So the public prosecutor demands that it be commensurate with his actions, one year and six months," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, May 3.

He explained that there were several aggravating things, including that the defendant had been convicted. In addition, as a result of the actions of this defendant, the victim, Venna Melinda, suffered both physically and psychologically.

"The mitigating thing is to be polite. He also attended the trial in an orderly manner so that the trial was smooth," he said.

Meanwhile, Ferry Irawan's attorney, Epi Fani Rahmat Gunadi, objected to the public prosecutor's demands in his client's case. The lawsuit is considered excessive.

"From us, we think it is too much. We will defend it at the pledoi next Tuesday. We'll just have to wait," said Epi Fani Rahmat Gunadi.

The trial of the domestic violence case with the defendant Ferry Irawan against his wife, actress and politician Venna Melinda will be continued next week with a defense agenda.

In the previous trial, the defendants Ferry Irawan who was accompanied by two of his legal advisers, namely Febi Fani Rahmat Gunadi and Michael Pardede, defended, such as Venna Melinda's bad character, if she was depressed, she would commit self-harm and attempted suicide.

In addition, Ferry Irawan also revealed the actions of his wife who had committed violence against him before the incident that occurred while staying at the Kota Kediri hotel.

He said his wife had hurt him by beating him so that his mouth was bleeding.
