Jasa Marga Implements ITS For Traffic Engineering For Eid Al-Fitr 2023
JAKARTA - PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk implements intelligence transportsystems (ITS) to support the traffic engineering of the 2023 Eid homecoming and reverse flows. "Jasa Marga as the first toll road operator in Indonesia to implement this system through super-app Jasamarga Integrated Digitalmap (JID) used by Jasamarga Tollroad Command Center (JMTC) to answer the needs in integrated toll road service management as well as to be a source of traffic information centers," said Jasa Marga Subakti Syukur in his statement in Jakarta, Saturday, April 29. Subakti said Jasa Marga continues to develop technologically-based innovations that continue to support the company's business process in providing maximum service to road users and relevant stakeholders.Jasa Marga performs digital technology improvements that can monitor, evaluate and provide recommendations related traffic management policies to stakeholders and access to more easily and up-to-date information to road users. Super-app JID, which is the embodiment of the ITS system, has a function, including the Advancedtraffic management system (ATMS) to monitor traffic conditions and situations through integrated digital maps with all information and communication equipment throughout Jasa Marga toll road sections. Then, detailattilitysystem(IMS) to provide notification related to traffic disruption, traffic engineering and toll road maintenance activities. Another function is roadsafety and traffic mitigation to monitor vehicles that exceed the upper limits on speed and load that pass through toll roads. Then, the electronictoll collelection system to monitor toll gate transactions in real time, the intelligenttenance system (ITMS) to optimally manage infrastructure assets and toll road maintenance, and the function of advancedtravelinformationst (ATIS) to provide information on traffic conditions and on toll road areas. "The system integrates all information and communication equipment on Jasan Group Toll Roads, which produces data and information, which are then analyzed by a number of exclusives in Jasaman Jasaman to be optimally exploited by decision makers. This makes roadfitable by road operators.
Subakti explained that in providing the best service to road users, especially in the midst of a surge in traffic volume that far exceeds its capacity during the Eid al-Fitr 1444 H holiday period, Jasa Marga recommends various strategies to optimize existing toll road capacity and traffic distribution to avoid vehicle buildup. To monitor the maximum capacity that can be accommodated on toll roads, Jasa Marga uses radar-based and CCTVanalytically based contacting digital intelligence (AI) technology by taking into account the agreed standards, namely the minimum speed of 40 km/hour, the maximum capacity of toll roads with V/Cratio below 0.8, the transition period for approximately 2 hours, and the safety factor. If the volume of vehicles per hour approaches the maximum capacity of a segment of the toll road segment, then this system provides early warnings to officers to be able to carry out traffic arrangements. "This is what we coordinate with stakeholders, in particular to the police, as the holder of discretion over traffic engineering measures," said Subakti.
