KPK: Many Productive Counter Narratives In Political Year
JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) said that many untrue narratives were blown by irresponsible parties in the middle of the political year. This effort is considered as a form of risk of eradicating riots in the country."During this political year, the KPK certainly also realizes various challenges in eradicating corruption in Indonesia. Not only at the risk of massive potential corruption crimes but also various counterproductive opinions that are trying to be raised in the community," said Head of the KPK News Section Ali Fikri to reporters, Thursday, April 27.One of the issues that are widely spread is the KPK in politics. Even though this is not true, said Ali, because many regional heads and legislators from various parties have been arrested."They are cadres or products of a political process. Of course, if we look further, the suspects come from various parties," he said. Moreover, the KPK has been working in accordance with Law Number 19 of 2019. "That in carrying out the task of eradicating corruption is independent without being influenced or intervened by any party," said Ali.Thus, the anti-corruption commission always ensures that they have pocketed evidence before naming someone as a suspect."In taking action against a case, the KPK emphasizes that it does not look at cases or perpetrators of what color or social background but rather from the adequacy of a piece of evidence for a criminal act of corruption," said Ali."People can also cross-check the data of the parties who are KPK suspects through the kpk.go.id website," he concluded.
