JAKARTA - The Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to Malaysia Hermono invited Indonesian citizens (WNI) in Malaysia to maintain togetherness in the political year.
"Katib has also reminded all of us that this year and also the year to come we will be faced with a time that has the potential to cause hostility... potentially cause division between us," said Ambassador Hermono after the Eid prayer at the Kuala Lumpur Embassy. as reported by Antara, Saturday.
Therefore, he asked Indonesian citizens in Malaysia to be both determined and committed to maintaining brotherhood and unity.
According to him, the difference is one thing. And basically the election is a matter of difference in choice, and with politics the difference is managed to achieve the goal.
"But don't let the difference cause divisions between all of us. I think this is important. What was explained earlier was the preacher regarding the wisdom of Eid al-Fitr," said Hermono.
Khatib prays Eid al-Fitr at the Indonesian Embassy in Kuala Lumpur, who is a senior lecturer at the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) Dr. Vomika Artalim Zaim said next year is a difficult year for the Indonesian people. Political year, where tensions usually arise.
It can even happen that people in one house have different views and eventually separate and divided. People in one village who are united but in time can be divided, he said.
This is a reality that is in front of us. So the message for us together, we are actually one, our Prophet is one, our Lord is one, our goal is one. Hopefully, the political difference will not make us split," said Vomika.
He also hopes that Indonesia will have united people. Because how much energy is wasted and deployed because of the differences.
"sleeping is not calm, the heart is uncomfortable. Meeting friends doesn't come to the bottom because of that difference," he said.
