Let's Take A Peek At Google's Program Ranks In Supporting Startups In Indonesia
JAKARTA - Over the years, Google has shown its support for founders and startups in Indonesia. In the last two years, Google has even provided the best training for Indonesian startups to connect with the right experts and the best technology.
All encouragements, including training with Google's best experts, are carried out in various programs. The program is as follows:
Indie Games Accelerator (2020)
Indie Games Accelerator (IGA) is Google's first mobile game accelerator program to start in 2018, designed to drive indie developer growth from emerging markets including guidance, training, and suggestions on products, design, and monetization.
In 2020, Google will host IGA Alumni Day 2020, an event to bring IGA alumni together with publishers or investors. From Indonesia, the three game developers participating in this event were Nightspade, Everidea Interactive, and Niji Games. 40 developers who participated in this event managed to raise more than US$65 million from game publishers and investors.
Google for Startups Accelerator (2021)
Google for Startups Accelerator: Indonesia is the first program in Indonesia and is dedicated specifically to one country. This program includes workshops that focus on product design, user acquisition, leadership development for startup founders, as well as mentoring for 169 hours with 47 mentors from Google and industry, some of whom are alumni of the Accelerator program.
GFS Women Founders (2022)
Women Founds Academy is an accelerator program for women founding Seed to Series A stages in the Asia Pacific region, which provides 12-week skills development guidance with Google experts and industry experts to improve capabilities and tips to address challenges in building their businesses, including capital and funding.
Indie Games Accelerator (2022)
Three founders of the game studio from Indonesia, Gambir Studio, Eternal Dream Studio, and Rigged Box Softworks managed to pass the 2022 Indie Games Accelerator after undergoing online training and guidance by industry experts and global mentors for ten weeks.
GFS: Startup Academy (2022)
The Indonesian Academy startup is an intensive online bootscamp program for five days for Indonesian technology-based startups that have high potential. This program is designed to accelerate the growth of Indonesian startups in the fields of fintech, e-tech, retail, logistics, agriculture, gaming, and health by providing them with access to Google's best expertise and resources.
Unity x Play (2023)
Google Play partnering with Unity and the Indonesian Game Association launched the Google Play x Unity Game Developer Training. This is an online training and certification program from Unity to developers and students at 16 universities in Indonesia. Here, participants can choose between three different learning paths: Game developer, artist, or programmer.
Google for Startups: Southeast Asia and Pakistan (2023)
Google for Startups Accelerator: Southeast Asia and Pakistan provide the best access to Google's advanced communities, networks and technologies to help startups make amazing products. Noice, Mindera and PasarMIKRO managed to complete this very competitive program. They receive special guidance and support from global mentor networks as well as access to AI/ML, Cloud, Play, Android, and Web experts.
