The Directorate General Of Hubdat Of The Ministry Of Transportation Reveals 5 Things That Need To Be Anticipated During The 2023 Eid Homecoming Moment

The Directorate General of Land Transportation of the Ministry of Transportation emphasized five things that need to be anticipated in the implementation of Eid 2023 transportation in the river, lake, and ferry transportation sectors.

First, prepare arrangements, supervision, and control at ports and ships by always paying attention to loading conditions and loading processes.

"Number one is to prioritize safety and security aspects at ports and in the maritime environment. In addition, supervision and control are needed at ports and ships by always paying attention to the cargo and loading process properly," said Director General of Land Transportation of the Ministry of Transportation Hendro Sugiatno in a written statement, quoted from Antara, Friday, April 14.

Second, coordinate and accelerate the readiness of transportation facilities and infrastructure. Third, prepare an alternative scheme other than the scheme to be implemented to support smoothness in the implementation of Eid transportation.

Next, the fourth is to prepare optimally and fifthly for transportation facilities and infrastructure, coordinating with all relevant stakeholders to prepare for the implementation of an integrated post by placing human resources from all stakeholders at strategic points in each port.

Hendro also emphasized the importance of coordination and collaboration as the key to realizing Eid 2023 transportation well.

"In addition, in order to support the government's program to realize a good and electronic-based government system, each party can participate in supporting information system-based transportation services so as to produce efficiency in the river, lake, and crossing transportation service system," he said.

He said the electronic-based service would be carried out in stages and would begin to be implemented across Merak-Bakauheni through the soft launching of an online sailing approval letter on Thursday, April 13.

"On Thursday, we also held a soft launching of the issuance of online sailing approval letters. Meanwhile, related to the safety and security aspects of shipping, especially the services of ferry ships, it is requested that traffic arrangements be made in both shipping lanes and port pools in a professional manner," said Hendro.

According to him, specifically in the Sunda Strait, especially the Merak-Bakauheni route, there is an international shipping route that is equipped with a traffic separation system (TSS) so there must be a joint standard operating procedure (SOP) between the vehicle traffic system (VTS) and local port services (LPS) which is very much needed in the implementation of ship traffic control so that the authority between LPS and VTS is clear.

"As a follow-up to recommendations from the Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs and Fisheries, on Thursday a joint SOP was signed between the Tanjung Priok Navigation District and the Lampung Land Transportation Management Center (BPTD) and the Banten BPTD regarding the Joint Procedure for Ship Traffic Services between VTS Merak and LPS Merak Ferry Port and LPS Bakauheni Ferry Port," he said.
