BNI Strengthens Commitment To Green Economic Movement In Indonesia
JAKARTA PT Bank Negara Indonesia Tbk. (BNI) reinforces its commitment to be actively involved in driving the green economy in Indonesia.
BNI President Director Royke Tumilaar said the company is not only focused on promoting profitability and sustainable performance but also contributing to national economic development.
"We are proactive in encouraging strengthening performance with the spirit of Go Global, Go Digital, and Go Green," he said in a written statement on Thursday, April 13.
According to Royke, since the beginning BNI has been designed as an entity with international network and global capacity. It was stated that the company currently has six networks of Foreign Branch Offices (KCLN) spread across Singapore, Hong Kong, Tokyo, London, New York, Seoul and 1 Representative Office in Amsterdam.
"BNI is also concerned about digital transformation efforts by continuing to innovate and improve banking services through leading and user-friendly technology," he stressed.
For information, the entity coded as BBNI shares has recorded users of digital channels as much as 13.6 million, growing 26.1 percent year on year (yoy). The score also boosted the transaction value which shot 30.4 percent by Rp802 trillion.
"The green economy commitment is reflected in the financing of the Sustainable Business Activity Category (KKUB) reaching IDR 182.9 trillion or 28.5 percent of BNI's total credit portfolio," he continued.
Royke also stated that BNI had distributed Sustainability Linked Loan (SLL) of US$355 million or equivalent to Rp5.3 trillion to top tier debtors in the priority industry sector, such as fast-moving consumer goods and manufacturing.
"We also offer attractive pricing as an incentive for debtors in order to increase achievement. In the long term, BNI wants to continue to improve this initiative so that it becomes a bank with the best ESG practices in Indonesia," concluded Royke.
