Bayern Munich Didn't Become Superior While Traveling To Manchester City Headquarters, Thomas Tuchel: No Problem
Bayern Munich will travel to Manchester City headquarters to undergo the first leg of the 2022/2023 Champions League quarter-finals. The match at the Etihad Stadium will take place on Wednesday, April 12, early morning WIB.
Bayern's new coach, Thomas Tuchel, thinks his team is not seeded in this match. However, he didn't care.
According to him, Bayern will continue to appear with high confidence to achieve the best results.
"We are not the team that is seeded and that is not a problem. We must remain confident and play our best game," Tuchel said.
This will be Tuchel's first tough test as Bayern coach. Of course, he really hopes to win the match later.
Moreover, Tuchel had a good experience meeting City in the Champions League while still dealing with Chelsea. He brought the Blues to win over City in the 2021 Champions League final.
When asked how Bayern managed to overcome Manchester City's game, Tuchel wanted his team to play well when they had the ball or without the ball.
"The Pep team always has a unique style of play. We will try to find ways to compete with them when they have the ball or without the ball."
"There will be times when we are under pressure and have to keep us safe, we will try to overcome it and try to get more control of the ball," added Tuchel.
Ahead of the match, Bayern announced that Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting would miss the match due to a knee injury. Tuchel said he still had several substitutes.
"Serge Gnabry can play number nine. He may not be tall, but neither is Thomas Muller or Sadio Mane," said Tuchel.
