Fates Warning Vocalist Ray Adler Releases Solo II Album June 9
JAKARTA - Fates Warning vocalist Ray Alder will release his second solo album titled II via InsideOut Music on June 9. This is a follow-up to the album What The Water Wants which was released four years ago.
As with What The Water Wants, this album was written by Ray with Mike Abdow (members of the Fates Warning tour) and Tony Hernandez ( way Of Black) Both also played bass on their own songs with drums playing by Craig Anderson (Ignite, Crescent Guilding) and mixing by Simone Mularoni (Rhapsody, Michael Romeo, DGM).
Ray's second album was only titled II, but in musical terms, it is a much more open and exploratory work compared to its predecessor.
"When we wrote the first solo album, I wanted to try some different musical styles. I didn't want it to be too heavy, but more musical with an interesting choir. I think we did a pretty good job on that first album. one But with this new album I want music and lyrics to be darker and tougher," Ray said of his new album.
"I think Mike did a fantastic job with music. He listens to what I say and thinks musically.
Tony knows that I love big choruses and a rather traditional voice. And, of course, Craig did an amazing job on drums as usual. It's an honor to be working with them.
"This album reflects more what I've heard going forward as a solo artist. Longer songs, deeper lyrics, and really pushing myself out loud.
"I hope whoever listened to him enjoys it the same as me while working on it..."
