2 Weeks Before Eid Al-Fitr, Jokowi Finds Chili Prices Of Rawit, Eggs And Chicken Meat In Boyolali Market Down
BOYOLALI - President Joko Widodo checks food prices at the Cepogo People's Market, Boyolali Regency, Central Java Province two weeks before Eid Al-Fitr 1444 Hijriah.Accompanied by the Minister of Trade Zulkifli Hasan, Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo, Boyolali Regent M Said Hidayat, and Deputy Regent Wahyu Irawan, Jokowi inspected the market and had a dialogue with several traders.The President said that the price of food commodities in the Cepogo Boyolali People's Market fell ahead of Eid."It turned out that everything went down. For example, cayenne pepper was sold for only Rp. 20,000/kg, which was previously sold for Rp. 80,000/kg to Rp. 90,000/kg, chicken eggs Rp. 25,000/kg, previously reached Rp. 30,000/kg, garlic of Rp. 24,000/kg to Rp. 25,000/kg, chicken meat of Rp. 32,000/kg," he said at the location quoted from Antara, Monday, April 10.He said that the decline in food commodity prices occurred because the supply had increased. "The economic theory, if prices go down, means a lot of stock and a lot of supply," he said.Jokowi said that food stocks are generally still safe. "God willing, prices will continue to fall. Rice also fell slightly, up to Rp500/kg," he said.In addition to checking food prices, the President distributed aid in the form of food packages and cash to traders at the Cepogo People's Market. He also distributed t-shirts to traders and local residents.Before visiting the Cepogo People's Market, the President and his entourage visited Selo Market in Lereng Merapi Boyolali to check the prices of foodstuffs ahead of Eid.The Minister of Trade is grateful that food commodity prices will fall ahead of Eid. He also said that food supplies are safe until Eid.
After a working visit in Boyolali, the President and his entourage continued their journey to Sukoharjo and Solo.
