Visited By PAN To Discuss Follow-up To The Great Coalition, Gerindra Claims Prabowo To Be The Intermediate Figure

JAKARTA - Chairman of the National Mandate Party (PAN) Zulkifli Hasan visited Gerindra Chairman Prabowo Subianto at his residence on Jalan Kertanegara, South Jakarta, Saturday, April 8, afternoon.

Prior to PAN, Prabowo had also visited the General Chairperson of Perindo Hary Tanoe and PPP General Chair Yusril Ihza Mahendra.

The agenda for the meeting of Zulkifli Hasan and Prabowo was to discuss the follow-up to the formation of a major coalition initiated by five political party leaders at PAN headquarters last weekend.

Regarding the visit, the Secretary General (Sekjen) of the Gerindra Party, Ahmad Muzani, claimed that Prabowo Subianto was a figure who was seen as a mediator for all parties. Including in the context of facing the 2024 General Election, especially the presidential election.

"From various meetings, the need to find a leader who can provide a middle ground for our national atmosphere is increasingly urgent. From various interests, (leaders, ed) it seems that Pak Prabowo Subianto," said Muzani in Kertanegara, Saturday, April 8.

Even so, Muzani emphasized that the assessment process regarding the formation of a major coalition called the National Coalition was still ongoing. Muzani said, each political party (parpol) still has to equalize future views, especially regarding presidential and vice presidential candidates.

"But this talk is frankly not final, it still takes time to communicate, it takes time to equalize perceptions," he explained.

After these meetings, added Muzani, Gerindra will also meet with PKB as a colleague at the Greater Indonesia Awakening Coalition (KIR) to discuss the next stages. The Gerindra and PKB meeting is currently scheduled to take place on Monday next week.

"Later there will be talks in the next phases and stages and Monday there will be a meeting with PKB," he said.
