Minimizing Crimes, West Bangka Regency Government Adds Hundreds Of Street Lighting Lights
BABEL - The West Bangka Regency Government, Bangka Belitung Islands Province this year will add 112 lighting units installed on public roads to support community activities at night.
"The addition of this street lighting unit is a form of the government's seriousness in supporting community activities at night, as well as minimizing the possibility of crime," said Head of Transportation Division of the West Bangka Regency Housing, Settlement and Transportation Agency Juswardi in Mentok, Friday.
According to him, the plan to add 112 PJU lights has been prepared through the 2023 District Budget.
For now, the PJU lights that have been installed by the West Kalimantan Regency Government are 608 units spread across all sub-districts, so with an additional 112 units, the total becomes 720 lights.
"This number will continue to grow because we strive to have a budget for the program every year," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Friday, April 7.
He explained that the plan to add PJU lights this year was a follow-up to the results of a survey conducted by the Perkimhub Service with a team of members of the local district DPRD.
"The addition of street lights is carried out in accordance with the recess activities of DPRD members in Tempilang, Mentok, Jebus and Parittiga sub-districts. The lights will be installed at the corners of roads, intersections, and locations that are considered vulnerable," he said.
Meanwhile, for national roads, he said, this year there will also be an additional 30 units that will be installed on the road from the direction of Mentok City to Tanjungkalian Port.
"The national road PJU Light is assisted from the Land Transportation Management Center (BPTD), while there is no news on provincial roads that there may be additional road lights," he explained.
