Wanted! Investors Who Want To Collaborate To Build 9 Geothermal Working Areas
JAKARTA - PT PLN (Persero) opens collaboration in building 9 (nine) Geothermal Working Areas (WKP) with a total capacity estimated at 260 megawatts (MW).
The 9 geothermal locations that will soon be developed by PLN, namely Tulehu in Central Maluku, Atadei in East Nusa Tenggara, Songa Wayaua in South Halmahera, Tangkuban Boat in West Java, Ungaran in Central Java, Kepahiang in Bengkulu, Oka Ile Ange in NTT, Gunung Sirung in NTT, Danau Ranau in South Sumatra and West Lampung.
"In total, of the 9 locations whose potential we have studied, it can reach 260 MW. In the first phase of procurement, we opened WKP cooperation for development in Tulehu, Songa Wayaua, Atadei and Tangkuban Boats," said PLN President Director, Darmawan Prasodjo to the media, Monday, March 27.
Darmawan said that PLN as the holder of the Geothermal License (IPB) in Indonesia has received a mandate from the law to develop geothermal potential as well as possible. Currently, PLN has prepared details for 3G (Geology, Geochemistry and Geophysics) studies for the construction of WKP.
According to him, collaboration is an important key to the development of geothermal potential spread across various regions. This concerns feasibility studies, construction of geothermal facilities and conversion of energy from geothermal sources.
"Through this kind of cooperation, later we will find collaboration of experts, sharing knowledge, and opportunities to increase the green energy portfolio together," said Darmawan.
For this reason, Darmawan invites every interested party including local companies, foreign companies and domestic and foreign investors to become PLN's strategic partner in the development of WKP in Indonesia.
"We at PLN open the widest possible collaboration for all interested parties to join. Here we will jointly not only build mutually beneficial businesses but also produce environmentally friendly energy," concluded Darmawan.
