DPRD Reminds DKI Provincial Government That Cooking Oil Is Rare Ahead Of Eid Al-Fitr
JAKARTA - Chairman of Commission B of the DKI Jakarta DPRD Ismail reminded the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government to maintain food availability during Ramadan until Eid Al-Fitr 2023.
Ismail highlighted the condition of cooking oil stocks that are prone to scarcity, resulting in soaring prices and troubling the community.
"This needs to be a concern about cooking oil because this is what is often unexpected. Learning from yesterday's experience, it's very vulnerable to suddenly disappearing from the market. This is something that needs to be anticipated. Because this is the trigger for society to become panic buying," said Ismail in his statement, Monday, March 27.
Then, currently, a number of commodities such as premium rice, eggs, chilies, and onions have experienced price increases. According to Ismail, the DKI Provincial Government must understand that inflation in Jakarta greatly affects national inflation.
Therefore, Ismail reminded the DKI government and the central government to work together to maintain food price stability in DKI.
Our oil is now Rp. 15,000 for one pack. I checked the meat at Rp. 140 thousand. Then the average rice increased by Rp. 500 to Rp. 1,000. Then the shallots, garlic and chilies also rose," he said.
In this regard, the DKI Provincial Government through the BUMD PT Food Station Tjipinang Jaya again held a cheap market during Ramadan to Eid al-Fitr this year. The cheap market in March was held at 67 points, while in April it was held at 38 points.
President Director of PT Food Station Tjipinang Jaya Pamrihadi Wiraryo previously said that his party still has additional food stocks besides stocks in March and April if there are additional requests and sub-districts or residents.
The implementation of the low-cost food station is held every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. The available products include Premium FS Rice, Economic Rice, Crystal Sugar FS, Wheat Flour FS, Mineral Air, FS Cooking Oil, FS National Chicken Eggs and UHT Milk FS.
Pamrihadi said that this cheap market was held by the DKI Provincial Government because of the potential for very critical food security constraints.
"Where, there has been an increase in the price of basic foodstuffs, namely rice, which is the continuing effect of the increase in dry rice prices since the end of 2022," said Pamrihadi.
