France Wins 4-0 Over Netherlands Thanks To Brace From Kylian Mbappe

JAKARTA - The French national team (timnas) made the Netherlands not move when they won with a landslide score of 4-0 in the inaugural Group B match in the 2024 European Cup (Euro) qualifying at Stade de France, Saturday, March 25 in the morning WIB.

Kylian Mbappe scored two goals in this match, with the other two scored by Antoine Griezmann and Dayot Upamecano. It's also Kylian Mbappe's first game as the new captain of the French national team.

This victory made France top Group B with three points, while the Netherlands was set at the bottom of the group or fifth place, according to the official UEFA website.

The hosts immediately scored the opener when the game had only been running for two minutes. Kylian Mbappe sent a pull pass into the box that Griezmann struck into a goal. The score becomes 1-0 for France.

Quoted from ANTARA, Saturday, March 25, France immediately added to their lead in the 8th minute. Starting from Griezmann's free kick into the penalty box, the Dutch goalkeeper made a mistake in anticipating the ball before Upamecano just found the ball into the net. The Netherlands trailed 2-0.

Mbappe listed his name on the scoreboard as well as put his team 3-0 up in the 22nd minute. He escaped the offside trap and just faced the Dutch goalkeeper Jesper Cillessen before kicking the ball into the net.

The Netherlands were not without a chance, they threatened in the 57th minute through Memphis Depay's free-kick, but the attempt was denied by goalkeeper Mike Maignan.

In the 88th minute, France scored their fourth goal through Kylian Mbappe's individual action before releasing a low shot that Cillessen failed to stop. The position is 4-0.

The Netherlands got the chance to score an entertainment goal in injury time after getting a penalty kick. Wout Weghorst was violated by Dayot Upamecano in the forbidden box.

However, Weghorst's penalty kick was blocked by Mike Maignan. France managed to maintain their 4-0 lead until the game ended.
