Seeing The World Today In A Modern Version Of "Sgt. Pepper's" Album Cover

JAKARTA - The album cover "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" is the most iconic work in the history of the music industry. The Beatles featured dozens of celebrities and world figures from the 19th century on the cover of the album. Now, the modern version of the album is updated for the 21st century.

The update was made by German artist TrippieSteff. In a new illustrated version of "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band," TrippieSteff has Taylor Swift, Kanye West, Drake, and Lil Nax X in the place of John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr.

Apart from the four, TrippieSteff also provides a place for celebrities, world figures, and other icons of modern pop culture. For example, Swedish environmental activist Greta Thunberg, Space X boss Elon Musk, former US president Barack Obama, to No Face, the iconic ghost from the film Spirited Away.

In the cover of the original album "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band", The Beatles featured 71 world minds. They consist of celebrities, world figures, to pop culture icons of the 19th century. Among these figures, we can see a folk musician who is also a friend of The Beatles, Bob Dylan.

In addition, there are also Richard Lindner, Oliver Hardy, Marilyn Monroe, The Godfather star Marlon Brando, writer Oscar Wilde, to the bassist for The Beatles before Paul, Stuart Sutcliffe. Other figures, from the genius Albert Einstein to the communist Karl Marx, can also be seen on the cover.

"The original cover (of the album) is the joining of big figures who portray the dominant mindset in the late 60s," said TrippieSteff quoted by NME, Sunday, November 17.

"It (the characters on the cover) was also a group of influential figures who were 'heroes' to The Beatles. With the desire to keep the same theme, I chose to present the most iconic and influential figure in the last decade," added TrippieSteff.
