Preserving Yesterday's Party For All Ornaments 2019 Remains Hot
JAKARTA - Studiorama was successful with its all-night party, Ornaments 2019. Despite its simplicity, a series of performers of various genres managed to maintain the festivity of the festival which was held from Friday afternoon, November 15 at 16.00 WIB until Saturday morning, November 16 at 04.00 WIB.
Ornaments 2019 is one of the most authentic music festivals this year. Studiorama is not the first time to hold a music performance. The latest record that is also the most fragrant for Studiorama is when they successfully brought in an indie rock unit from the United States, Japanese Breakfast.
However, for the music festival, Ornaments 2019 is a promising debut for this Jakarta-based music collective. Ornaments can be said to be a manifestation of various events that have been held by Studiorama for eight years. And of course, they managed to prove consistency in providing alternative references for music lovers.
The psychedelic rock unit from Australia King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, the instrumental quartet from the United States BADBADNOTGOOD, to the post-punk troop from England These New Puritans are a combination that has colored the Kuningan City Ballroom Stage Room, Kuningan, South Jakarta.
Apart from that, Ornaments 2019 also features a number of international DJs. Call it Tzusing, Hyph11e, Meuko! Meuko !, to Scintii. From within the country, Studiorama brought together their favorite electronic music composer, Jurrasic Phunk and Gabber Modus Operandi, a duo of music producers and contemporary artists from Bali, Kasimyn and Ican Harem.
Broke just before midnight
Nearing midnight, BADBADNOTGOOD took over the stage. Leland Whitty, Matthew A. Tavares, Chester Hansen, and Alexander Sowinski managed to enchant the audience in the Stage Room. Their appearance was definitely stunning.
After being bewitched by the instrumental music of BADBADNOTGOOD, King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard burned the floor of the Stage Room. Stu Mackenzie, Ambrose Kenny Smith, Cook Craig, Eric Moore, Joey Walker, Lucas Skinner, and Michael Cavanaugh looked excellent.
From the list of set lists that were played, the numbers of their new album, "Infest The Rats' Nest" dominated. Call it Mars for the Rich, Superbug, Perihelion, to Self-Immolate which makes high-substance music addicts crazy.
Not left behind. One of their most popular numbers, Crumbling Castle is also played. Stu and his friends know very well who they are dealing with under the stage. Unfortunately, the appearance of King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard ended with disappointment.
Not because of a bad appearance. After King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard closed the performance with Crumbling Castle, shouts of "we want more" burst out loud. The audience below the stage had not died down.
Nearly ten minutes the screams rumbled, until the crew of King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard really researched the personnel's tools from the stage. Honestly, last night's King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard audience was one of the most thirsty music-goers ever.
Furthermore, the floor, which was still shaking, was kept moving by the hum of the repetitive gamelan played by the Gabber Mode Operandi. The performance of this electronic duo from Bali is perhaps one of the craziest performers. They appear fierce with techno hardcore music that is carried.
In the line of spectators, a reog-like creature was circling around chopping the humans who were shaking incessantly. Part of the appearance that was quite surprising. Reog's circumference was accompanied by a beat that was beating even faster. The distortion is also more deafening. Crazy.
With the various experiences presented by Ornaments 2019, it is no exaggeration to call the second season of this festival one to look forward to in the future.
