Regent Of Banggai Laut Who Got The OTT KPK Reactive COVID-19

JAKARTA - The Regent of Banggai Laut, Central Sulawesi, Wenny Bukamo, who was arrested by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) in a hand arrest operation (OTT), is reportedly reactive to COVID-19. This news was then confirmed by the Acting Spokesperson for the KPK in the field of prosecution Ali Fikri.

"Yes, it is true (reactive COVID-19, red)," Ali told reporters, Friday, December 4.

When confirmed regarding the follow-up to the reactive results, Ali did not provide any answers, including who else was declared as reactive to COVID-19.

Previously reported, after arriving from the location of the arrests, Wenny Bukamo and a dozen other people immediately underwent an investigation by KPK investigators.

During this silent operation, the KPK found several pieces of evidence in the form of money in the form of hundreds of thousands of rupiah denominations. In addition, during this silent operation, the KPK task force also confiscated other evidence including savings books, check heads, and several project documents.

Information regarding the silent operation by the KPK task force was confirmed by KPK Chairman Firli Bahuri.

"Today, Thursday 3 December 2020 at 13.00 WIB, the Regent of Banggai Laut was arrested," Firli said when contacted by journalists via text message, Thursday, December 3.

Wenny was arrested after allegedly receiving money from private parties or contractors working on projects in the government.

It is known, Wenny is a candidate for incumbent regent promoted by PDI Perjuangan and is paired with Ridaya Laode Ngkowe. From the information gathered, he is also the first regent in Banggai Laut Regency and was first elected in December 2015.

In addition, he was also recorded as having served as a member of the Surabaya DPRD for the 1999-2004 period.
