KPK Opens The Possibility Of Examining Ali Ngabalin Regarding The Alleged Export Bribery Case Of Edhy Prabowo's Fry
JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) opens the possibility to examine the Chief Expert of the Presidential Staff Office (KSP) Ali Mochtar Ngabalin who was part of the group of the Minister of Marine Affairs and Fisheries Edhy Prabowo when the hand-catching operation (OTT) was carried out.
Deputy for Enforcement of the Corruption Eradication Commission Karyoto said Ngabalin could have been questioned by investigators if the investigation found clues or evidence related to the fry corruption case.
"If Ali Ngabalin is given something that is a gift, the category will be different, unless there is tracing and then there is a certain portion and we will naturally question it," said Karyoto in a press conference broadcast on the KPK RI YouTube account, Tuesday, December 1.
"But so far we are collecting evidence whether there is money there (receipt of money, red) or not," he said.
It is known, Ali Mochtar Ngabalin was one of the names who joined Edhy Prabowo's group during a visit to Honolulu, Hawaii, United States.
At that time, he joined the trip because he was a supervisor at the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries. However, Ali was not arrested by KPK investigators.
Previously, Edhy was suspected of receiving Rp3.4 billion in bribes, which was then used as much as Rp. 750 million to buy luxury goods in Honolulu, Hawaii, United States. The items he bought included bags, clothes, luxury Rolex watches, and bicycles.
In this case, Edhy Prabowo was named a suspect in receiving bribes along with five other people, namely: Stafsus Minister of KKP Safri (SAF) and Andreau Pribadi Misanta (APM); Management of PT Aero Citra Kargo (PT ACK) Siswadi (SWD); The staff of the wife of the Minister of KKP, Ainul Faqih, and Amiril Mukminin (AM).
Meanwhile, the giver of the bribe was the Director of PT Dua Putra Perkasa Pratama (PT DPPP) Suharjito (SJT).
Edhy Prabowo and a number of suspects were arrested by the KPK prosecution team at Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Cengkareng, Tangerang upon arrival from Honolulu, Hawaii, United States.
Subsequently, after being named a suspect, Edhy and other suspects were detained at the KPK Detention Center for the Red and White Building of the KPK for the next 20 days from November 25 to December 14.
