Roma Sports Coupe, Ferrari's First Hybrid Car

MARANELLO - Ferrari entered a new segment through the Ferrari Roma plug-in hybrid sports coupe. Previously, the Italian supercar manufacturer, Ferrari was synonymous with a large capacity engine and a howling engine sound.

Ferrari Roma is a competitor to the Porsche 911 which has the opportunity to attract new customers, namely those who want to try out the capabilities of a sports coupe but have an environmentally friendly hybrid engine.

Launching Antara, Saturday, November 16, Ferrari Commercial Director Enrico Galliera said the Ferrari Roma was designed for people who want to drive a sports car or Ferrari but are afraid of Ferrari and sportscar.

Rome, which was inaugurated on Thursday in Italy, is the fifth car that the manufacturer has introduced the Prancing Horse logo this year. But the car will be the first release under Ferrari's business plan in the next five years, covering both electric and hybrid super cars.

This car still carries the typical strong Ferrari engine, namely a 3.855cc V8 engine with an acceleration of 0-100km / h which only takes 3.4 seconds. The Roma transmission uses an 8-speed DCT gearbox similar to the Ferrari SF90 Stradale.

What distinguishes it from other Ferraris is that the appearance of Rome tends to be calmer with a long, bowed front muzzle, sharp side lights, a lower A-pillar and a minimalist rear.

The Ferrari Roma will be delivered to consumers in mid-2020 with an off-the-road selling price of US $ 220 thousand, which is equivalent to IDR 3.1 billion.
