Posting Photos Of Insulting President Jokowi, The Chair Of The FPI In North Sumatra Becomes A Suspect

MEDAN - Welly Putra was named a hate speech suspect after posting a photo that was deemed insulting to President Joko Widodo (Jokowi). The suspect called the police was the chairman of the FPI Deli Serdang.

"The perpetrator is proven to have posted a photo of Megawati Soekarnoputri carrying President Joko Widodo through his Facebook social media account," said the Head of Sub-Head of the North Sumatra Regional Police's Penmas, AKBP MP Nainggolan, Thursday, November 26.

From the examination, Nainggolan stated that Welly was the chairman of the FPI, Galang District, Deli Serdang Regency. The perpetrator was arrested by the North Sumatra Police team on Wednesday, November 25.

"The perpetrator was arrested while at his residence. He was proven to have posted a photo of Megawati carrying President Joko Widodo using a mobile phone," said Nainggolan.

During the arrest, the police confiscated evidence of 3 units of cellphones, ID cards, and handcuffs from the hands of the perpetrators. The suspect charged with Article 45 paragraph (3) in conjunction with Article 27 paragraph 3 of the Information and Electronic Transactions Law.
