MUI Indramayu Said, Never Fear Of Getting Vaccinated With COVID-19
JAKARTA - Chairman of the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI), Indramayu Regency, West Java Province, KH Moh Syathori, appealed to the public not to be afraid of the COVID-19 vaccine and to support the government in handling the pandemic through vaccination.
"The government will have to support the COVID-19 vaccination and the public should not be afraid of being vaccinated," said Syathori in Indramayu, quoted by Antara, Thursday, November 26.
Syathori said, if indeed only vaccination can stop the COVID-19 pandemic, then he appealed to the public to receive vaccines.
He ensured that he would support the government's efforts to vaccinate, especially when the vaccine products used later could be guaranteed halal.
"I support vaccination, let alone what is halal. Say it is made from unclean, even if it is not available anymore, then it is allowed," he said.
Syathori continued that Islam also tolerates when something that is haram is used in an emergency such as the current pandemic.
For this reason, he hopes that the community can help the government in making vaccinations a success, so that this long-standing pandemic can be overcome immediately.
"Because according to religion it is fine, especially when it is an emergency. Because something is an emergency that can allow anything that is haram or what cannot be allowed," he said.
