Yesterday, The Children Were Waiting For The Father Who Died To Be Dragged By The Flood
JAKARTA - An eight year old child was found in an oil palm plantation in Santilik Village, Mentaya Hulu District, Kotawaringin Timur Regency, Central Kalimantan, in a poor condition. Apparently he was waiting for his father who died as a result of being dragged away by the flood.
"The child was found drenched by residents passing by. It turned out that he was waiting for his father. After being searched, it turned out that his father had died not far from the location of the child," said Kapolres AKBP Abdoel Harris Jakin through the Mentaya Hulu Police Chief, Iptu Roni Paslah at Sampit, Monday, October 26th.
Reporting from Antara, the child is with his father, Sami Amekan (20), who is about to return home to the employee's house in Mekar Jaya Village, Parenggean District, after visiting from their relative's house at Kruing Estate, Saturday, October 24 at 21.30 WIB.
This incident was a face when they were about to pass at the scene. It turned out that the road was being flooded with quite a swift current due to the rain pouring down the area. The victim then got off the motorbike to check the passable path, while the child remained near the motorbike.
Suspected of having slipped, plus the current was quite heavy, the victim was immediately swept away by the flood. At that time the son was still in his position and did not know exactly what happened that took his father's life.
Throughout the night, the poor boy stayed there waiting for his father, who did not come back. He survived in the middle of the pitch black plantation.
Sunday, October 25 at around 06.00 WIB, a resident named Ahmad Watijan passed by the location and found the poor boy. When asked, the boy told of what happened to him and his father.
The incident was then reported to the company. During a search, the poor boy's father was found dead in a ditch, about 20 meters from the scene.
The victim's body was evacuated to the puskesmas for examination. Furthermore, the body was handed over to the family.
"Based on the doctor's statement after the post mortem was carried out, the victim's body could not be found any sign of violence," he said.
