3,000 Personnel Prepared To Secure A Demonstration Against The Job Creation Law In Malang
JAKARTA - A total of 3,000 joint personnel will be deployed by the police to secure a demonstration against the Job Creation Law which will be held in Malang, Tuesday, October 20.
Kapolresta Malang City Kombes Leonardus Simarmata said that his party had received information regarding a demonstration plan to be carried out by the Malang Fighting Alliance, which is a combination of students and workers.
"The joint personnel are more or less the same as yesterday, there are 3,000 joint personnel of the TNI and Polri," said Leonardus, in Malang City, East Java, as reported by Antara , Monday, October 19.
Leonardus explained that even though the number of personnel deployed was 3,000, his party would prioritize a persuasive and humanist approach. It is hoped that there will be no more chaotic demonstrations like the one that occurred on October 8, 2020.
He reminded that demonstrations to express opinions are a right for citizens. However, for now, these actions have the potential to be ridden by irresponsible parties.
"Actually, it's the right to express an opinion, please. I just ordered, because at this time every demonstration activity has the potential to ride, and provocation like on October 8, 2020 yesterday," Leo said.
In addition, Leo continued, the location of the demonstration on October 20, 2020, is planned to be held at the Rajabali four intersection, Malang City. The intersection of four is an arterial route to the business center of Malang City.
"The action at the Rajabali four-way intersection raises the question, why is it there. It will interfere with mobility such as an ambulance and the people who will work," Leo said.
Leo added that the Rajabali area is the center of offices, trade and banking in Malang City. Thus, this location is not a suitable place to express opinions.
Leo added, the location for expressing opinions has been centered in front of the Malang City Regional Representative Council (DPRD) building, Malang City Hall, or around the Malang City monument area.
"We have already prepared communication with the council officials there. But if you want to make an action in Rajabali that's the intention, I apologize for not being good," said Leo.
The plan is for the Malang Against Alliance to carry out further demonstrations against the Job Creation Bill which has been passed by the House of Representatives (DPR). The action was stated to be attended by 3,000 representatives from among students and workers.
