Update On COVID-19 As Of October 19: Cure Rate Is Higher Than Positive Cases
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) has released data on developments in handling COVID-19. Of the 36,259 specimens examined, 3,373 new positive cases were found.
"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia reached 365,240 people," quoted from data from the Ministry of Health, Monday, October 19.
Meanwhile, the number of recovered cases increased by 3,919, so the total was 289,243 people who recovered from COVID-19. Meanwhile, 106 cases died so that it became 12,617 people.
On the other hand, provincial data with the highest number of positive cases were in DKI Jakarta. Based on data, as many as 926 people in the capital have tested positive for COVID-19. So that the total residents who have been infected have become 95,253 people.
Then, other provinces with a high number of additional positive cases include West Java and Central Java. There were 524 and 316 cases, respectively.
Meanwhile, the province with the most recovered cases was also occupied by DKI Jakarta with 1,124 cases. Then, Central Java with 352 cases and East Java with 341 cases.
So far there are 11 provinces that have reported additional cases under 10. Among them, South Sulawesi, West Papua, East Nusa Tenggara and Gorontalo. Then, there are 3 provinces without positive cases, namely, West Sulawesi, West Kalimantan and Papua.
In addition, the number of specimens examined reached 4,092,595. In detail, as many as 4,012,954 specimens were examined using real time polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) and 79,641 specimens using molecular rapid tests (TCM).
"The number of positive results per number of specimens examined (positivity rate) was 14.3 percent," he wrote.
Finally, the number of people suspected of having contracted COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases, was recorded at 162,410 people. Currently, 501 districts / cities from 34 provinces have cases of COVID-19.
