Update On COVID-19 As Of October 13: New Cases 3,906, Specimen Examination Reaches 50,418

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) releases the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 today. A total of 50,418 specimens were examined with the results of 3,906 new positive cases of COVID-19.

"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 340,622 people," the Ministry of Health was quoted as saying, Tuesday, October 13.

Cases recovered today increased by 4,777 so that a total of 263,296 people recovered. Then, the positive confirmed cases who died increased by 92 people and a total of 12,027 people.

The province with the most new cases was in DKI Jakarta with 1,054 new cases and a total of 89,228 cases. DKI Jakarta is also the province with the most accumulated cases in Indonesia.

Followed by West Java which has 565 new cases with a total of 28,087 cases. Central Java has 466 new cases and a total of 27,106 cases. East Java has 315 new cases and a total of 47,595 cases. Then, West Sumatra has 172 new cases and a total of 9,052 cases.

The province with the most cases recovered today belongs to DKI Jakarta with an increase of 1,100 recovered cases. Followed by West Java with an increase of 565 recovered cases, East Java with an increase of 351 recovered cases, and Central Java with an increase of 292 recovered cases.

Then, there is 1 province that reported having no new cases today. The province is Gorontalo.

In addition, the number of specimens examined reached 3,852,511. In detail, a total of 3,784,384 specimens were examined using real time polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) and 68,127 using a molecular rapid test (TCM).

"The number of positive results per number of specimens examined (positivity rate) was 14.3 percent," he wrote.

Finally, the number of people suspected of having contracted COVID-19 or currently categorized as suspected cases was 153,822. Currently, 500 districts / cities from 34 provinces have cases of COVID-19.
