Received 5 Consecutive PAPs From The Ministry Of Finance, Ganjar: Do Not Be Tarnished By Corruption In The Budget For Handling COVID-19

JAKARTA - The Government of Central Java Province received an award from the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Indonesia after winning the Unqualified Opinion (WTP) on financial reports 5 times in a row.

The award was handed over by the Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani after opening the 2020 National Coordination Meeting for Government Financial Accounting and Reporting online, Tuesday, September 22.

The Rakornas was attended by all ministries / agencies and local governments in Indonesia including Governor Ganjar Pranowo who also received the award.

The Ministry of Finance gives awards to local governments in two categories, namely those who have won WTP five times and 10 times in a row.

Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo emphasized that the good record related to WTP should not be tainted by problems such as corruption, including managing and securing funds from refocusing the budget for handling COVID-19.

"Earlier the record was good, the WTP is clean, so don't tarnish it with problems. Clean WTP, but when checked for corruption, don't get it. We ask not only the provincial government, but also the district / municipal governments whose results are also good, Solo, for example, more than ten. Let's learn everything, we manage state money well, WTP is good and great but must be clean, "said Ganjar after receiving the award online.

He said that the COVID-19 pandemic basically has nothing to do with WTP, precisely with this pandemic everyone can carry out governance.

According to Ganjar, during this pandemic what needs to be considered is related to refocusing funds.

"Do not let more funds, unexpected funds, and be spent easily, but lack of accountability. This will tarnish the WTP," he said.

Since the beginning, the Central Java Provincial Government has implemented ways to maintain accountability for refocusing funds by preparing a detailed budget. After going through the process, the final filter is the Inspectorate of Central Java Province, which will review the proposed expenditure budget.

Ganjar revealed that the Central Java Provincial Government has actually received WTP nine times in a row.

"Earlier, we received an award from the Minister of Finance for the category (WTP) for five consecutive years. Actually, we had nine consecutive years, but because the 'grade' is still below ten, thank you for getting your attention," he said.

Apart from the Central Java Provincial Government which won the award five times in a row, several districts / cities in Central Java also received the same award.

Among them are Banjarnegara Regency, Banyumas Regency, Blora Regency, Boyolali Regency, Grobogan, Karanganyar Regency, Kudus Regency, Pati Regency, Pekalongan Regency, Purworejo Regency, Semarang Regency, Sragen Regency, Sukoharjo Regency, Temanggung Regency, Wonogiri Regency, and Pekalongan City.

The city of Surakarta and Jepara Regency have actually gotten better by winning the WTP opinion award on financial statements ten times in a row.
