Anies's Hard Work To Face Floods Without A Deputy Governor

JAKARTA - It has been a year since the Governor of DKI Jakarta Anies Baswedan has been single without a deputy governor. His running mate, Sandiaga Uno, chose to resign to participate in the 2019 Presidential Election. Since then, Anies has been single-handedly managing all the problems that have occurred in Jakarta.

The absence of a deputy governor was then considered to be one of the reasons that made Anies seem overwhelmed by the problem of flooding, especially the massive floods that occurred after heavy rains that hit DKI Jakarta and its surroundings on Tuesday, December 31 to Wednesday, January 1.

"The absence of a deputy governor, in my opinion, has made Pak Anies' performance less toned and overwhelmed," Trubus said when contacted by VOI, Thursday, December 3.

According to Trubus, Anies actually tried to patch it by involving the Regional Secretary of DKI Jakarta Saefullah and the Governor's Team for the Acceleration of Development (TGUPP). However, this patch is considered insufficient by the observer.

"Many things (are happening) internally by the Governor. Because in fact Pak Anies' policies are good and can be appreciated but, yes, because of various things the execution is difficult," said Trubus, adding that not only was he not Deputy Governor, Anies often dismantled the ranks of the head. service also backfired in itself.

Apart from that, in addition to the lack of flood control execution factors, Anies is also considered to have less communication with the buffer areas of DKI Jakarta such as West Java and Banten. In fact, flood prevention should be carried out from upstream to downstream not.

Not only that, the former Minister of Education and Culture in the Working Cabinet era is also considered not to have opened the taps of good communication with the central government.

In fact, as a stakeholder, according to Trubus, Anies should have sat more often with the central government and the provincial government that supports DKI Jakarta to discuss the problem of flooding, which is a regular part of this metropolitan city.

Anies and the resolution got a new wagub

Just before the new year, Anies Baswedan actually received questions from journalists regarding the position of the deputy governor seat which had been dusty since Sandiaga Uno left. It's just that, there was no definite answer from him at that time.

"Anyway, the sooner the better," he told reporters at City Hall, Central Jakarta, Tuesday, December 31.

Besides continuing to answer with hopes of being fast, but it turns out that the process is still tough, Anies also hopes that in 2020 he can be more productive than before. "InsyaAllah, our new year will start a new chapter. Alhamdullillah, we will pass 2019 well. His wish is to be more creative and optimistic," he said.

For information, some time ago PKS has presented two of its cadres, namely the General Secretary of DPW PKS DKI Agung Yulianto and former Deputy Mayor of Bekasi Ahmad Syaikhu to the DKI DPRD to be elected.

However, along the way, these two names have not been followed up, so Gerindra tries to carry other names including Riza Patria who is the Chairperson of the Gerindra Party DPP and a member of the Indonesian Parliament Commission V for the 2019-2024 period.

Later, after the name determination process, the official decisions of the candidates for each party will be announced in early January. Until finally, the election process for the Deputy Governor of DKI, which had stalled, will be continued.

Furthermore, after one candidate from the two parties is elected each, the DKI DPRD will hold a joint leadership meeting (rapimgab) to ratify the order (tatib) for the DKI Deputy Governor's election and continue with the formation of a voting committee (panlih) that will work with reference to the rules to determine one name. This name will later occupy the number two seat in DKI.
