JAKARTA - The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) announced that Indonesia's Anti-Corruption Behavior Index (IPAK) in 2023 was 3.92 on a scale of 0 to 5.

This figure is lower than the 2022 achievement of 3.93.

Acting Head of the Central Statistics Agency Amalia Adininggar Widyasanti said that the index value was getting closer to 5 showing that people were behaving more anti-corruption, while the index value which was getting closer to 0 showed people were more permissive in behavior towards corruption.

"IPAK is prepared based on two dimensions, namely Dimension of Perception and Dimension of Experience. The value of the Perception Index in 2023 is 3.82, an increase of 0.02 points compared to the Perception Index in 2022 of 3.80," he explained at a press conference, Monday, November 6.

On the other hand, the 2023 Experience Index feels at the level of 3.96. This figure decreased by 0.03 points compared to the 2022 Experience Index at 3.99.

Amalia conveyed that the IPAK of urban communities in 2023 was higher at 3.93 when compared to rural communities at the level of 3.90.

"The higher the education, the more anti-corruption the people tend to be more anti-corruption. In 2023, IPAK people are educated under SLTA at 3.88, SLTA at 3.93 and above SLTA at 4.02," he explained.

According to Amalia, people aged 40 years and under are slightly more anti-corruption than other ages. In 2023, IPAK people under 40 are 3.92 years old while people aged 40'59 years and 60 years or more have the same IPAK, which is 3.91.

For information, IPAK is compiled based on two dimensions, namely the dimension of perception and dimension of experience.

Each dimension in IPAK has a subdimension. Subdimensions are used to construct an index of dimension.

On the other hand, the perception dimension consists of three subdimensions, namely subdimensional family perceptions, community perceptions, and public perceptions.

Meanwhile, the dimension of experience consists of two subdimensions, namely a subdimensional public experience and other experiences.

Amalia said, if you look at IPAK from 2020 to 2023, it can be seen that IPAK values tend to increase from year to year, although sometimes fluctuate.

"The same thing also happened for the value of the Perception Index, which in general saw an increase in the Perception Index from 2020 to 2023," he said.

This shows an increase in public understanding and assessment regarding anti-corruption behavior.

Meanwhile, the 2023 Experience Index is 3.96 points, down compared to 2022 of 3.99.
