Rakhman said that previously the national road access between the two districts was hampered and diverted to the north, with the functionality of the new Kali Glidik Bridge which is expected to facilitate traffic and logistics flow in the southern route of East Java.

"The work to replace the Kali Glidik II Bridge which collapsed due to the cold lava flood on July 7, 2023, was completed eight days earlier than the original target time, namely November 10, 2023," he said.

He added that the East Java-Bali BBPJN had coordinated with the Class II East Java Land Transportation Management Center (BPTD), the Malang Regency and Lumajang Regency Transportation Service, the police and other related parties, to discuss the open traffic of the Kali Glidik II Bridge.

"With the completion of the Kali Glidik II Bridge, the connectivity of the southern route between Malang Regency and Lumajang Regency is again connected," said Rakhman.

The new Kali Glidik II Bridge is a steel frame bridge with the permanent steel frame bridge Type A-45 with a span of 45 meters (m) and a width of 9 m.
