Minister Of Manpower Says SOEs Have A Harmonious Role In Building Industrial Relations

JAKARTA - Minister of Manpower Ida Fauziyah said that from the perspective of employment, especially in the context of industrial relations, state-owned companies play a major role in the Indonesian economy.

This was conveyed by Ida in the Strategy Forum for the Settlement of Dispute in Industrial Relations of BUMN Companies which took the theme 'Harmony of Industrial Relations in BUMN, Harmoni for Indonesia,' in Jakarta.

Ida said, at the national level, state-owned companies, apart from playing a role in generating profits for companies, also have a strategic role to play in serving the public interest.

"Therefore, it is appropriate for state-owned companies to become the driving force of the national economy and as an example of implementing industrial relations for other companies," said Ida.

Ida also invited state-owned companies to be able to carry out transformations in the employment sector in order to maintain harmonious industrial relations.

"This will be a reference for industrial relations conditions in Indonesia," he said.

The government, continued Ida, has an obligation to maintain conducive industrial relations conditions, this aims to create stability and increase domestic economic growth.

"A conducive industrial relationship is important as the beginning of the success of a company," said Ida.

Meanwhile, the Director General of Industrial Relations and Employment Social Security (PHI-JSK) of the Ministry of Manpower, Indah Anggoro Putri, added that the BUMN Company Industrial Relations Dispute Settlement Strategy Forum aims to increase the understanding of industrial relations actors within state-owned companies regarding strategies to resolve industrial relations disputes.

"Through this forum, it is hoped that it can synergize BUMN policies in resolving industrial relations disputes in state-owned companies," he said.
