Appointed As Coordinating Minister For Maritime Affairs Ad-Interim To Replace Luhut Temporarily, Erick Thohir: This Trust Is Very Heavy

JAKARTA - Minister of State MIlic Business Entities (BUMN) Erick Thohir admitted that the mandate given by President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) to himself as Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Ad Interim was very heavy.

However, he said he would live it well.

As is known, Erick appointed by the President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo (Jokowi) to replace the role of the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan while Coordinating Minister Luhut during the healing period.

"I am certainly grateful for the President's trust in me, this mandate is very heavy but it must be. I can do my best," he said through social media, quoted Thursday, October 12.

Erick also believes that the Ministry led by Luhut Binsat Pandjaitan has a very strong team.

So, he continued, as long as he took over the position he could also coordinate well.

"I believe that in the place of the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs, Pak Luhut, has a very strong team. It is impossible so far that many work has been encouraged by the Coordinating Minister to succeed," he said.

"For example, cooperation between us in BUMN and the Coordinating Minister when accelerating the fast train bettersh, (we) are more of a corporation to build infrastructure and all kinds of things, the Coordinating Minister also encourages the acceleration of infrastructure because this is cross-over (ministerial)," he continued.

According to Erick, with this strong and good team, the tasks given will not be difficult to carry out. However, he admitted that he would lack rest.

"I have a good team at PSSI, have a good team at BUMN, the Coordinating Minister has a good team, I don't think it's a difficulty. Just lack sleep," he concluded.

Previously, it was reported that President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) appointed SOE Minister Erick Thohir to become Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment (Menko Marves) Ad-Interim to temporarily replace Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan who was undergoing health care.

"Because currently Mr. LBP (Luhut Binsar Panjaitan) Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Fisheries is undergoing medical treatment, President Jokowi has appointed Erick Thohir, Minister of SOEs as Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs Ad-interim," said Presidential Special Staff Coordinator Joko Widodo, AAGN Ari Dwipayana, quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, October 11.

Luhut Pandjaitan, through his personal Instagram account @luhut.pandjaitan, Tuesday, October 10, explained that he was advised by the doctor to rest for several days.

Luhut's health condition suddenly weakened after attending an activity.

"Suddenly I felt very tired. This fatigue is not what I used to feel after work," said Luhut.
