Revision Of Presidential Regulation 191/2014 Discussed Again, Head Of BPH: There Are 5 Pertalite Consumer Categories

JAKARTA - Head of the Downstream Oil and Gas Regulatory Agency (BPH Migas) Erika Retnowati revealed that the government will soon discuss the revision of Presidential Regulation (Perpres) No. 191 of 2014 concerning Supply, Distribution, and Retail Selling Prices of Oil Fuel.

Erika also gave a leak regarding the criteria for consumers of the Pertalite Special Assignment Fuel Type (JBKP).

"So far, there has been no arrangement for JBKP, so in the revised Presidential Decree, we will arrange Perumers for Pertalite users," Erika said in the Energy Corner quoted Wednesday, October 11.

Meanwhile, for the Solar Certain Types of Fuel (JBT), the government will also improve the JBT consumer category.

"His criteria will be clarified because so far he has interpreted multiple interpretations with the existence of an old Presidential Decree," explained Erika.

Later for JBKP, said Erika, the government will determine 5 consumer categories, namely small industries, fisheries businesses, agricultural businesses, the transportation sector and public services.

Erika also said that Mineral (ESDM) Arifin Tasrif had also written to the Minister of Finance and Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) to add to the Revision of Presidential Regulation 191.

This discussion re-emerged due to the high price disparity between the Pertalite Special Assignment Fuel Type (JBKP) which is priced at IDR 10,000 and non-subsidized fuel, Pertamax which is valued at IDR 14,000.

"Because the increase in non-subsidized fuel prices is likely to cause migration, which will result in an increase in subsidies and compensation," concluded Erika.
