Bukit Teletubbies Bromo Fire Makes Rp89.7 Billion Loss

The fire that occurred in Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park (TNBTS), East Java resulted in state losses of Rp. 89.7 billion. The calculation of the loss of the Bukit Teletubbies fire after being closed for 13 days after the fire.

This was conveyed by the Main Expert Tourism and Creative Economy Adyatama, Kemenparekraf Nia Niscaya quoting Antara, Monday, September 25.

"The total loss (loss) of the tourism sector during the 13 days of the closure of Bromo National Park is IDR 89.76 billion," said Nia.

Nia said, there are two dimensions calculated by the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, namely the result of the absence of revenue from the ticket and losses that arise from the expenditure side.

Furthermore, he said that in one day, the tourist area included in the list of 10 priority tourism destinations resulted in revenue of Rp121 million, while for tourist spending per day it was estimated at Rp6.7 billion.

"So 13 days of potential loss of Rp. 1.5 billion. Precisely Rp. 1,577,989,515. The total loss-sending during that time was around Rp. 89,184,139,737 from expenses," he explained.

The calculation, he said, was obtained based on four variables consisting of the number of visits or quotas for tourist visits per day, ticket prices for both foreign tourists (tourists) and domestic tourists (tourists), expenditure costs when tourists visit and the duration of closing the TNBTS.

Nia said that currently the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (KLHK) is carrying out rehabilitation to update the condition of Bromo National Park through four points, namely physical rehabilitation, economic rehabilitation, social rehabilitation and management rehabilitation.

The Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, he said again, has also coordinated with the Ministry of Environment and Forestry regarding the rehabilitation carried out and is preparing to re-sold Bromo so that it is able to provide economic value from natural resources in this area.
