Indonesia-Oman Explore Cooperation In The Field Of Employment Training

JAKARTA - The Indonesian government is exploring cooperation in the employment sector with the Oman Government. The scope of exploring this collaboration is employment relations.

Then, law and labor law, development of resource capacity, safety and occupational health (K3), and eradication of the Crime of Trafficking in Persons (TPPO).

Penjajajaan kerja sama ini terjadi pada pertemuan bilateral antara Menteri Ketenagakerjaan, Ida Fauziyah dengan Kepala Departemen Hukum Kementerian Luar Negeri Oman, Sulaiman Bin Saud Aljabri, di Kantor Kementerian Ketenagakerjaan, Jakarta, Senin, 11 September.

"We hope that this meeting can be a new momentum for the Government of Indonesia and the Government of Oman to develop mutually beneficial cooperation in the field of employment," Ida said in an official statement, Tuesday, September 12.

During the meeting, Ida Fauziyah explained that Indonesia is one of the countries that places its migrant workers in various countries. The placement schemes used are G to G (Government to Government), P to P (Private to Private), Inter Corporate Transfer, and placement independently.

As a form of protection for Indonesian migrant workers working abroad, Ida said the Indonesian government itself imposed a number of provisions for the destination country for placement.

Among them, continued Ida, the destination country for placement must have regulations that protect foreign workers in all sectors; have written agreements (MoU) with the Government of Indonesia; have a social security system and/or insurance that protects foreign workers; and have system integration between the Government of Indonesia and the country of placement.

"Currently, the Indonesian government has a policy that emphasizes the placement of Indonesian migrant workers who have skills according to their fields and are certified to occupy jobs in the formal sector," he explained.

Ida Fauziyah also explained that Indonesia is a country that is entering a demographic bonus, where the population of productive age dominates the total population.

"To optimize this potential, the Government of Indonesia, especially the Ministry of Manpower, continues to empower the competence and competitiveness of Indonesian human resources through vocational training," he said.

Through 21 Vocational and Pstructivity Training Centers (BPVP) under the auspices of the Ministry of Manpower today, several vocational areas that are in great demand and potential include automotive, informatics and telecommunications vocational, electrical, welding, and electricity.

"We hope that the two countries can develop cooperation in the field of training in potential vocational and job fields that are developing in their country through exchange training programs," he said.

Furthermore, Ida Fauziyah, the various potential collaborations are expected to be realized in the form of exchanging information and visits, comparative studies or benchmarking, organizing seminars and conferences, joint projects, technical assistance, and exchanging experts.

"We hope that the cooperation between the Government of Indonesia and the Government of Oman can be realized soon, run smoothly, and provide benefits and benefits for both countries," he said.
