Jabodebek LRT Transports 5,000 Passengers On The First Day Of Operation

JAKARTA - The Jabodebek LRT has officially operated after it was inaugurated by President Joko Widodo (Jokowi). It was recorded that there were more than 5,000 passengers riding the Jabodebek LRT on the first day of operation.

The Manager of Public Relations of the Jabodebek LRT, Kuswardoyo, said that the occupancy figure was obtained after President Jokowi tested the mass transportation.

"So yesterday when we first operated the Jabodebek LRT, which we started at 02.00 (in the afternoon), the occupancy recorded was up to 06.00 (tore) more than 5,000 people," he said at Dukuh Atas LRT Station, Jakarta, Tuesday, August 29.

For this initial operational stage, continued Kuswardoyo, it is targeted that around 115,000 passengers can be transported in a day.

"Our current target is at least 115,000 users every day," he said.

Later, said Kuswardoyo, passenger targets could increase along with the increasing number of trainsets or a series of Jabodebek LRT trains operated.

For your information, the government will impose a Jabodebek LRT tariff promo in the context of the 78th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia. The promo applied is a discount or discount of 78 percent which is realized in a flat rate of IDR 5,000.

The 78 percent discount promo applies to all service routes. This promo is also valid from the time it was inaugurated, namely August 28 to the end of September 2023. The plan is for the Jabodebek LRT to operate today.

Furthermore, in order to encourage people's interest in switching to using mass transportation rather than private vehicles and to introduce the Jabodebek LRT, the Ministry of Transportation has prepared a maximum promo tariff scheme of IDR 20,000 for the furthest distance, and below IDR 20,000 for other than the furthest distance, until the end of February 2024.
