JAKARTA - The Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin) held a Food & Hotel Indonesia (FHI) exhibition at JIExpo Kemayoran, Jakarta, on July 25-28.

This is to encourage efforts to expand the food and beverage industry (mamin) into the global market.

This is because the food and beverage industry sub-sector is the main motor for the growth of the non-oil and gas processing industry in Indonesia, and is supported by abundant natural resources and increasing domestic demand.

GDP in the food and beverage industry is known to grow by 5.35 percent in the first quarter of 2023 or in line with the national GDP growth of 5.03 percent and contributed 38.61 percent to GDP in the non-oil and gas processing industry.

"This is one of the strategic steps to encourage exports in terms of market demand," said Director General of Agro Industry at the Ministry of Industry Putu Juli Ardika in Jakarta, quoted Thursday, July 27.

The FHI exhibition, which will be held until July 28, is an exhibition product and services of the Southeast Asian-scale food and beverage industry.

The exhibition is targeted to attract 400 local companies and 350 foreign companies.

Through the implementation of these activities, it is hoped that Indonesian food and beverage industry players will be able to expand the market and establish new business partnerships that can increase industrial competitiveness in the global market.

"With various kinds of products, the latest technology, as well as interesting seminars and workshops, this exhibition is a business to business (B2B) platform that is very good for all participants to promote products, do business, and find new innovations in the food and beverage industry," said Putu.

In the exhibition, various products were also displayed, ranging from products that produce local and international food and beverage, to the latest technology in food and hospitality services.

In addition, the FHI exhibition also has an interactive agenda in the form of workshops and seminars on the latest industrial trends and developments in the food and beverage industry.

On this occasion, Putu also appreciated PT Pamerindo Indonesia's move to make Indonesia a food and beverage exhibition hub in Southeast Asia through the FHI 2023 exhibition.

"We hope that through this exhibition, domestic food and beverage industry companies can expand their market and increase their productivity," he concluded.
