JAKARTA - TransJakarta electric buses announced the achievement of two million kilometers within 14 months of operation, until now. This makes PT VKTR Mobility Technology Tbk (VKTR) as a TransJakarta distributor hold a celebration of this achievement in the Rasuna Epicentrum area, Jakarta, on Tuesday, June 13.

VKTR President Commissioner Anindya N Bakrie said the achievement came from the accumulation of distances that were successfully taken by 30 TransJakarta electric buses.

"Alhamdulillah, since the last month everything has been smooth and there is nothing that we are afraid of accidents, even the two million generate or save 5.5 million tons of CO2 which is the same as 250 thousand trees," Anindya told reporters at The Convergence Indonesia, Jakarta, on Tuesday, June 13.

"Well, we are part of a large ecosystem and hopefully this can be more active," he added.

Anindya said that around 10 million people have felt the TransJakarta electric bus since it first operated in 2019. Thus, this is an achievement that needs to be grateful for and is a common pride.

"We in the business world are only trying to serve the community, but judging from the public's interest, 10 million people have enjoyed (TransJakarta electric bus service) I think it is a shared pride," he said.

He explained that TransJakarta electric buses can continue to operate to this day due to the support of stakeholders who fight tirelessly.

"All of this is not a new effort, and now it's just a matter of how we can proceed in the right way and with all kinds of existing transitions, such as energy transitions, transportation mode transitions, and so on," he added.

Nevertheless, Anindya is still reluctant to reveal her intention to develop the electric vehicle to other modes of transportation. This is because the focus is still on increasing TransJakarta electric buses.

"For us, of course, starting with the bus first, of course there is an intention if the term is successful on the bus, we want to look at the truck, but we start with the bus first," he added.
