PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) (Persero) has paid dividends of IDR 2.19 trillion and company taxes of IDR 35.33 trillion to the state.
This is based on the decision of the PLN General Meeting of Shareholders (GMS) for the 2022 Fiscal Year.
In the GMS, it was agreed that PLN's dividend deposit to the state was IDR 2.19 trillion, an increase of 191.7 percent from IDR 750 billion in 2021. In addition, tax payments of up to IDR 35.33 trillion or an increase of 13.1 percent compared to 2021.
PLN President Director Darmawan Prasodjo said PLN as a state-owned company is committed to continuing to contribute more to the state and society, one of which is through improving performance from a financial perspective.
This can be seen in the 2022 financial statements where PLN was able to record the best financial performance in the history of the company with a net profit of IDR 14.44 trillion.
"Behind the financial performance achievements that we have made, the transformation carried out by corporations is the key to going through difficult times. As a result, despite facing an exchange rate loss of almost Rp. 20 trillion, our profit revenue in 2022 will still increase by 124 percent from the target," said Darmawan quoting Antara.
According to Darmawan, the main factor for increasing PLN's net profit is an increase in electricity sales which reached 6.3 percent or a total of 273.8 terawatt hour (TWh) which resulted in an increase in electricity sales revenue of up to 7.7 percent from Rp288.8 trillion in 2021 to Rp311.1 trillion in 2022.
The increase in electricity sales was dominated by industrial sector customers, where electricity consumption increased by 24.54 percent and the business sector increased by 22.47 percent.
