Supporting Industrial Human Resource Development 4.0, PIDI 4.0 Collaborates With South Korea

JAKARTA - The Indonesian Digital Industry Center 4.0 (PIDI 4.0) of the Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin) cooperates with agencies under the Ministry of Science and ICT of South Korea (MSIT) Born2Global Center to increase the readiness of competent human resources (HR), especially in the industrial sector 4.0.

The collaboration was stated in the signing of the MoU cooperation signed by the Head of the Industrial Human Resources Development Agency (BPSDMI) of the Ministry of Industry Masrokhan together with the CEO of Born2Global Jongkap Kim in Jakarta.

"Startup dengan deep technology adalah target utama pengembangan dalam MoU ini, baik melalui joint venture maupun program kerja sama lainnya. Kami bahagia karena dengan semangat kolaborasi ini, baik PIDI 4.0 dan Born2global juga siap untuk menyediakan fasilitas bagi startup kedua negara," kata Kepala BPSDMI Kemenperin Masrokhan dalam keterangan tertulisnya di Jakarta, Rabu, 7 Juni.

Masrokhan said this collaboration also includes organizing events from both countries with the aim of increasing investment, expanding markets, and collaboration that benefits both parties.

For example, knowledge sharing focuses on digital technology, technology ecosystems, private equity, venture capital investments and programs run by both parties.

"Knowledge sharing is held in the form of workshops, webinars, to business matching," he said.

According to Masrokhan, the Ministry of Industry's PIDI 4.0 has a vision as a one stop solution for technology adoption 4.0 for industry and windows for the world.

PIDI 4.0 has five main functions, namely showcase center, capacity center, Industry 4.0 ecosystem, delivery center, and engineering and AI center.

This function supports the manufacturing industry in Indonesia and certainly involves startups in deep technology in its implementation.

The Born2Global Center was founded with the aim of accelerating the startup which will become a global innovator.

With its various programs started in 2013, Born2Global has supported the development of 2,962 startups to enter the global market.

Meanwhile, the South Korea National Research Council (NRC) and the Indonesian Ministry of Industry have collaborated since 2018 through the MoU on Industrial-related Cooperation Activities 4.0.

To carry out these collaborative activities, a joint subcommittee was then formed to implement cooperation activities related to Industry 4.0. One of the institutions under the coordination of the NRC involved in this collaboration is the Science and Technology Policy Institute (STEPI) South Korea.

"During these two years, STEPI has collaborated with the Ministry of Industry for the development of PIDI 4.0. After conducting a study last year, this year is a follow-up to the results of the study. STEPI connects with other institutions, one of which is Born2Global," said Masrokhan.

On the same occasion, CEO of Born2Global Jongkap Kim appreciated the cooperation that had been carried out.

"The development of industry and startups in Indonesia is extraordinary. Indonesia has the potential to become the next world top high-gross country. We don't want to miss the opportunity to work together," he added.
