Regarding The Consolidation Of Angkasa Pura I And II, Deputy Minister Of SOEs: Can Hold Or Merger

Deputy Minister of BUMN II Kartika Wirjoatmodjo revealed the consolidation plan of PT Angkasa Pura I and Angkasa Pura II. He said, his party is currently finalizing a concept related to the consolidation plan.

Furthermore, Tiko, Kartika's nickname, said that consolidation was carried out to optimize national flight services.

"We see that AP I and II operate so far, east and west, the concept is hub and speech. We want to integrate not necessarily mergers. So that the arrangement of the air supply hub is really running optimally," he said when met at Borobudur Temple, Magelang, Central Java, written Monday, June 5.

Tiko said Indonesia itself already has two superhubs, namely Jakarta and Denpasar, Bali. In addition, Indonesia also has other hubs, namely Surabaya, Makassar, and Medan.

According to Tiko, the existence of two airport management has prevented flights from having maximum connectivity. Therefore, Tiko hopes that the integration of flight routes will be more comprehensive.

Previously, it was reported that the Aviation and Tourism BUMN Holding, PT Aviasi Wisata Indonesia (Persero) or InJourney, opened two alternatives to integrate the business of PT Angkasa Pura I (Persero) or AP I and PT Angkasa Pura II (Persero) or AP II. The options are merger and establishment of Subholding Airport Co.

President Director of InJourney, Dony Oskaria explained, the two options will be chosen, one of which. The selection was carried out after the process of equalizing the two state-owned airport operators.

Dony said the equalization process was related to commercial, policies, standard operating policies to organizational structures.

"We will equalize this first, if it is equally young for us to think about which alternative is the best, whether merger and acquisition, we can also form Co's operating on it as a subholding that we call Airport Co," he said at the Ministry of SOEs, Jakarta, Monday, December 12.

After the equalization is carried out, said Dony, InJourney together with the Ministry of SOEs will establish an alternative to the two options that have been launched.

As for the first option, AP I and AP II businesses will be merged into one company or through an acquisition scheme between the two companies.

Meanwhile, the second option is to form a Subholding Airport Co which will manage and directly control all BUMN airports in the country.
