JAKARTA - The National Food Agency (NFA) reports that the distribution of food aid for eggs and chicken meat to 1.4 million Stunting Risk Families (KRS) has been distributed as much as 995,000 packages, or 69 percent.

Head of the National Food Agency Arief Prasetyo Adi said distribution had been carried out in six provinces, namely, Banten as many as 51,000 packages (79 percent), West Java 338,000 packages (82 percent), and Central Java 308,000 packages (95 percent).

Then, East Java 252,000 packages (67 percent), and East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), West Sulawesi, and North Sumatra 46.000 packages (33 percent).

In total there are 7 provinces that are targeted for distribution. We have also started distribution in two provinces in Eastern Indonesia, namely NTT and West Sulawesi," he told reporters, Friday, May 19.

Furthermore, Arief ensured that his party would continue to encourage the Food SOE Holding ID FOOD to accelerate the distribution of aid, so that the first stage could be completed immediately and could immediately enter the second and third stages.

The acceleration of distribution is very important. Because with the faster and more intense distribution, the opportunity to intervene in balance and stability of egg and chicken prices at the consumer level is getting bigger," he said.

Arief revealed that there are several steps to accelerate distribution that will be carried out, including through increasing the facilitation of stock of eggs and chicken meat from production centers to provinces or areas with limited stock.

"In addition, we also ask ID FOOD to add and increase partnership cooperation with small independent breeders so that stock distribution is safe and distribution through PT POS can be accelerated," he said.

In addition to accelerating distribution, said Arief, supervision is also a priority. The reason is, good supervision will greatly support the smooth running of this program.

"Currently we are assigning the leadership of Echelon 1 and 2 of the National Food Agency routinely and alternately to the area to monitor and ensure food assistance, both egg and chicken meat assistance as well as rice assistance, arriving on time and on target," he said.

Arief also admitted that he asked for the support of the National Police Food Task Force and local governments in terms of supervision in the field. "We are open to every input and report for improvement," he said.

Meanwhile, ID FOOD President Director Frans Marganda Tambunan said in a separate statement that starting in the third week of May and so on, ID FOOD had started distribution to West Sulawesi and East Nusa Tenggara Provinces.

"We will pursue the realization of distribution in the seven provinces according to the number of KRS and the deadline set by the National Food Agency," he said.

To maintain smooth distribution, Frans admitted, evaluations continue to be carried out, including intense coordination with all stakeholders involved in distribution activities in the field such as Berdikari, Rajawali Nusindo, PT POS, BKKBN, National Food Agency, Food Task Force and local government.

The food assistance for eggs and chicken meat for stunting will be distributed for three stages in the next three months, with a target recipient of 1.4 million KRS (every stage), based on data from BKKBN.

Each KRS in each distribution period will receive assistance in the form of chicken meat measuring 1 head in the form of karkas with a size of about 0.9-1.1 kg and 1 chicken egg tray or as many as 10 pills.
