Surge In 2023 Homecoming Passengers, 4 Airlines Propose Additional Flights At Yogyakarta Airport

DI YOGYAKARTA - A total of four airlines submitted additional flights at Yogyakarta International Airport during the 2023 Lebaran homecoming flow. The increase in the number of passengers is a factor in the submission.

Acting General Manager of Yogyakarta International Airport Bambang Triyono said the airlines that proposed additional flights were Lion Air, Super Air Jet, Pelita Air, and Trans Nusa.

"This additional flight is to accommodate users of flight services both during the Eid Al-Fitr 2023 flow and back. Additional flights serve Balikpapan, Samarinda, Makassar and Medan," said Bambang in Kulon Progo, Special Region (DI) Yogyakarta, Saturday 15 April, confiscated by Antara.

He said Lion Air serves the Makassar (UPG), Medan (KNO), Balikpapan (BPN), and Banjarmasin (BDJ) routes, all of which make daily flights.

Super Air Jet serves the Balikpapan route (BPN), Samarinda (AAP), all of which are on daily flights. Pelita Air serves the Jakarta route (CGK) on 1819.20, 24, 25, and 26 April 2023. Furthermore, Trans Nusa serves the Jakarta route (CGK) from 18 to 26 April.

"We also urge the public to use airport services to remain disciplined in implementing health protocols, and to arrive at the airport at least three hours before departure time so that the trip feels comfortable," he said.

Bambang said that during the homecoming and backflow during Lebaran 2023 there were 336 aircraft movements, both regular flights and additional flights.

He said that the 2023 Eid homecoming is predicted to increase by 16 percent of passengers compared to Lebaran 2022 which is through Yogyakarta International Airport.

"We predict that the number of passengers through Yogyakarta International Airport during the 2023 Eid Homecoming will be 177,392, or an average of 11,000-12,000 passengers per day," said Bambang.
