Fuel Consumption Trends In Central Java-DIY Increase By 29 Percent, Pertamina Ensures Safe Supply

JAKARTA - Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional Central Java DIY predicts that the trend of fuel consumption will increase during the Ramadan and Eid Al-Fitr Task Force (Rafi) 1444 Hijri which was formed from April 1 to May 2, 2023.

During the Rafi 2023 Task Force period, the trend of consumption of fuel in the Central Java and DIY regions is estimated to increase. Gasoline Fuel (Pertalite and Pertamax Series) is predicted to increase by 29 percent when compared to the daily average January-February 2023 norm from 12,733 Kilo Liter (KL) to 16,412 KL," said Executive General Manager of Central Java Regional PT Pertamina Patra Niaga, Aji Anom Purwasakti in an official statement quoted Thursday, April 13.

Anom added, for gasoil fuel (Biosolar and Dex Series) it decreased 1.7 percent from normal 6,614 KL to 6,504 KL.

This decline was due to the decline in the Eid al-Fitr period when there was a decrease in industrial activities.

As for LPG (PSO & Non-PSO), Pertamina has alerted an additional stock of up to 3.7 percent compared to the average daily consumption or equivalent to more than 4.46 Metric Tons (MT) from the normal average of 4.3 MT.

For gasoline consumption, the Rafi 2023 Task Force has increased by 7.8 percent compared to the previous year's task force period, while for gasoil consumption it has also increased by 11 percent.

Gasoil's increase in consumption was due to an increase in the volume of vehicles during the Rafi 2023 period compared to the previous period.

For Avtur, the provinces of Central Java and DIY increased by 5.1 percent from the normal daily average of 243 KL to 256 KL.

Not only ensuring the availability of fuel supply, Pertamina Patra Niaga also ensures the availability of LPG, including in the Central Java & DIY region.

This is done by adding a fleet of tank cars, preparing 750 Alert Agents and 4,832 PSO Alert Bases and 882 Non-PSO Outlets operating during holidays.

Even specifically for areas with high demand, several LPG agents were alerted 24 hours.

Not only that, consumers can also easily order non-subsidized fuel and Bright Gas using the Pertamina Delivery Service 135 service.

"Through Pertamina Delivery Service, consumers can contact Pertamina Call Center 135 and we will send Bright Gas tubes from our closest LPG agent," said Anom.

In anticipation of the heavy flow of Eid homecoming which causes traffic jams, Pertamina has also prepared a bag gas station in the form of a tank car that is alerted as a pocket / backup of fuel supply at points prone to congestion.

The peak of the homecoming flow itself is predicted to occur on April 19, 2023, while the peak of backflow is predicted to occur on April 29, 2023. Several gas stations located in several strategic locations will operate for 24 hours.

"We urge people who want to go home and travel to fill the full tank at gas stations before leaving and to make it easier to find the nearest gas station while traveling, people can use the MyPertamina application or contact service Pertamina CallCenter 135," he concluded.
