JAKARTA - The Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin) said that Indonesia will try to seize the maximum opportunity in the implementation of the Hannover Messe (HM) 2023 which will be relaxed in Germany, on April 17-21.

This prestigious event is an important momentum for Indonesia as the first ASEAN country to be trusted again for the third time as the Official Partner Country at the world's largest industrial technology exhibition.

The Director General of Resilience, Regional Affairs and International Industrial Access (Dirjen KPAII) of the Ministry of Industry Eko SA Cahyanto said, for Indonesia's participation in the 2023 HM event, there are a number of cooperation agreements that will be signed. "The plan is that there will be 13 potential for cooperation that is ready to be established," said Eko through his official statement, Monday, April 10.

The 13 potential collaborations in question include the digitalization, development and development of a food sorting industry based on sensors and artificial intelligence, waste treatment technology, solar panel energy, and investment in the field of medical devices.

The Director General of KPAII explained that HM 2023 plays an important role in strengthening bilateral relations and Indonesia's economic cooperation with Germany and other partner countries, not only limited to trade, investment and industry, but will also touch on the dimension of sustainable development.

"Indonesia's participation in HM 2023 needs to be used to encourage the connection between the Indonesian industry and the global supply chain network," said Eko.

In HM 2023, Indonesia will feature more than 157 co-exhibitors consisting of industrial business actors including industrial startups, associations, industrial estates, special economic zones, educational institutions and the State Capital (IKN) in the Indonesian Pavilion, along with the implementation of various business Summits and conferences.

The Indonesian Pavilion will present six main conference themes held on April 18-20 2023. The six themes include Strengthening Manufacturing Ecosystem by Accelerating Industry 4.0, Investment in The New National Capital City, Investing in The Manufacturing Sector.

Then, the theme of Electric Vehicle, Ecosystem, Sustainability and Carbon Neutrality, as well as Investing Human Capital for Industrial Competitiveness. Later, this series of conferences will present sources from industry and government officials from the Republic of Indonesia.

Eko is also optimistic that the 2023 HM event can be attended by more visitors and potential buyers when compared to the 2021 HM which was carried out digitally due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.

HM 2021 is known to be only able to target 90,000 registered participants and managed to attract the attention of more than 3.5 million impressions on the website page, as well as 4.5 million social media coverage.

"As the official partner country in HM 2021, Indonesia received detailed information for 1,000 visitors, most of whom came from Germany (37 percent), Indonesia (27 percent), South Korea (4 percent), Japan (3 percent), and the rest came from China, the United States, Turkey, and India," Eko explained.

Indonesia's presence at HM 2023 will carry the Infinite Journey tagline which aims to introduce technological forces, improve sustainable development, and support the circular economy.

"Indonesia's participation this time will also bring great opportunities in building national branding as well as showing the development of the national industry in implementing industrial technology 4.0," concluded Eko.
