JAKARTA - Indonesia was re-elected as the official partner country at the prestigious Hannover Messe 2023 technology exhibition, which will be held in Germany, on April 17-21.

One of the sectors that was also promoted in the international event was the food and beverage industry or food and beverage.

Director General of Agro Industry of the Ministry of Industry Putu Juli Ardika said that his party had collaborated with the Indonesian Food and Beverage Producers Association (GAPMMI) to present the food and beverage industry at the event.

"Of course we want to provide a guarantee of quality insurance that our food products are produced with techniques that can already be guaranteed reliability and quality, including consistency," Putu told reporters at the Ministry of Industry Building, Jakarta, Monday, April 3.

"We also want to show that many industries in Indonesia, especially food and beverage, have implemented digitalization," he added.

Putu hopes that the food and beverage industry from Indonesia will be able to convince global buyers, so that they will attract many importers who make transactions at the Hannover Messe 2023 exhibition.

"Indonesia has an extraordinary advantage for the development of the food and beverage industry, because the population is the largest, in Asean as well, we have natural resources that can be developed, so we are very confident that we can get partners and cooperation with industrial companies and companies in Europe," he explained.

Furthermore, Putu said, at the Hannover Messe 2023 exhibition, his party will feature a collaborative thematic booth of the agro industry consisting of Gapmmi booths (Indonesian Food Producers Association) which tell the implementation of Industry 4.0 in the food and beverage industry sector from the upstream (inbound material), production, warehouse/outbond logistics, distribution, to research & development.

Not only that, there are also collaborative booths in the dairy industry, coffee and cocoa processing, as well as innovation booths for alga, porang, kelor and flour, pulp and paper industries, as well as the palm oil industry.

"For milk, we will show that we are starting to digitize on farms, from gathering stations to milk processing. We hope that Europe can invest in the industry, both livestock and for the supply of our milk raw materials, most of which are still full of imported markets," said Putu.

According to Putu, Indonesia also has the potential to be developed because it has a large area of land for livestock that can be utilized, especially in NTB, NTT, and Sulawesi.

In addition, there is potential in Sumatra and Kalimantan to combine palm oil and cattle and milk farms.

"This has great potential, now almost 80 percent of milk raw materials are still imported. If you can open investment opportunities in these areas, it will be good to create jobs in terms of on farm and milk processing," he concluded.

For your information, Indonesia raised the Infinite Journey tagline for participation in the Hannover Messe 2023 to describe Indonesia's journey towards an indefinite future with a spirit of optimism and broad future potential, without being limited by anything.

With this tagline, Indonesia targets that participation in Hannover Messe 2023 can increase inclusive sustainability, technology development, and support the circular economy.
