LAMPUNG - The Class I Panjang Harbormaster Office and Port Authority (KSOP) said there would be 15 ships ready to serve the crossing from Lampung Province to Ciwandan Port during the Lebaran 2023 homecoming period.

"Tomorrow it is planned that there will be a preparation meeting regarding the readiness of the Panjang Port to serve Eid 2023 transportation," said Head of Marine Traffic for Class I Panjang KSOP, A Dwi Saputra, quoted from Antara, Wednesday, March 29.

He said that for the Lampung crossing to Ciwandan Port, there are two routes, namely from the Ciwandan Long Port, and Bakauheni-Pelabuhan Panjang Port.

"The two sea crossing routes have provided 15 fleets of ships that are ready to transport travelers in Lebaran 2023," he said.

He detailed the Ciwan Island Port route and there are three ships that have been provided, namely two ships belonging to PT Antosim Lampung Pelayaran, and one ship owned by Pelni, namely the Dobonsolo motorboat (KM) with a capacity of 1,040 passengers and 150 vehicles.

"Then for the Bakauheni-Pelabuhan Port route, Ciwandan there will be 12 ASDP ships that have now finished conducting ramp checks. So a total of 15 ships have been prepared to serve the Lampung crossing to Ciwandan Port," he said.

He continued that KM Dobonsolo will not serve crossings every day, but will carry out crossing services on three days before Eid al-Fitr, on Eid al-Fitr, then six days and eight days after Eid al-Fitr.

"The 15 fleets prepared through the Panjang Port-Ciwandan Port route and Bakauheni-Ciwandan Port are carried out to anticipate a surge in passengers and prepare for Eid 2023 transportation," he added.

According to him, with the focus of Panjang Port as an alternative port to transport two-wheeled vehicle travelers, various other readiness will continue to be improved until the day of the homecoming.

"Everything is expected to run smoothly, so that this safe and memorable homecoming can be attached to the community," said Dwi.

Based on data from the Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) nationally, it is estimated that at the Lebaran 2023 homecoming there will be an increase in travelers from 85 million people to 123 million people, who will use land, sea and air transportation equipment.
