JAKARTA - Bank OCBC's attorney, NISP Hasbi Setiawan, revealed that his party had written to President Joko Widodo to ask for protection and law enforcement related to a bad credit case involving PT Hair Star Indonesia (HSI).

He explained that indications of PT HSI's efforts to escape from obligations to the bank were carried out in a number of ways.

One of them is by diverting 50 percent of PT HSI's shares previously owned by PT Hari Mahardika Utama (HMU) to other parties.

Meanwhile, PT HMU is owned directly by Susilo Wonowidjojo (SW).

"We see an attempt to run away from responsibility, especially SW, who is the Forbes version of the rich number 14 in Indonesia," said Hasbi in Jakarta, Monday, March 27.

Hasbi admitted that his party had written to President Joko Widodo through the Ministry of State Secretary.

To obtain their rights as creditors of PT HSI, he continued, Bank OCBC NISP has made a number of legal remedies. Such as the civil lawsuit at the Sidoarjo District Court (PN) which is currently taking place, respectively.

The lawsuit with case number 19/PDT.G/2023/PN.SDA places Susilo Wonowidjojo as the main defendant.

Another legal step is to report alleged criminal acts of management and HSI shareholders, including Susilo Wonowidjojo as the owner of PT HMU to the Indonesian National Police Criminal Investigation Agency (Bareskrim Polri).

In the Police Report No. LP/B/0011/2023/SPKT/Bareskrim Polri on January 9, 2023, there were allegations of using credit proceeds from Bank OCBC NISP that were not in accordance with the agreed credit agreement between Bank and PT HSI.

"This letter to the President is one of the efforts of the banking industry to get justice for the bad behavior carried out by creditors of PT HSI's class, which is owned by Susilo Wonowidjojo through PT HMU. Bank OCBC NISP has never thought that the cooperation that has been well established since 2016, where every year a credit extension to HSI is always carried out, turns out to be rewarded with malicious intentions to escape from obligations," said Hasbi.

His party also considers the bankruptcy that occurred to PT HSI is very strange, considering that the PKPU lawsuit was carried out by debtors with receivables of only around Rp. 4 billion.

Even though PT HSI has just received credit from Bank OCBC NISP of around Rp232 billion.

Not to mention the oddity of the PKPU lawsuit filed a month after PT HMU sold its shares in HSI to parties suspected of being still affiliated. This is what we ask for law enforcement to be carried out in a straight, upright and professional manner. This is also a test of Susilo Wonowidjojo's credibility, which was previously indirectly through its subsidiary PT HMU, which owns shares and representatives in PT HSI, involved in the credit agreement process between Bank OCBC NISP and PT HSI," concluded Hasbi.
