Sandiaga: 11 Airlines From 7 Countries Open Direct Flights To Indonesia

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy (Kemenparekraf) said, as many as 11 airlines from seven foreign countries have opened direct flights to Indonesia.

"I congratulate 11 airlines on opening direct flights from seven countries, including the Netherlands, United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Oman, Turkey and Ethiopia," said Tourism and Creative Economy Minister Sandiaga Uno at The Weekly Brief with Sandi Uno in Jakarta, Monday, March 27.

The 11 airlines include Garuda Indonesia, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, Emirates, Etihad Airways, Lion Air, Mentari Airlines Group, Saudi Arabia Airlines, Qatar Airways, Oman Air, Turkish Airlines, and Ethiopian Airlines.

"The four cities in Indonesia, namely Jakarta, Denpasar, Medan, and Makassar (have opened direct flights) back and forth," said Sandiaga.

With the opening of the direct flight, Sandiaga hopes that there will be an increase in the number of tourists in Indonesia in the future.

"Of course, we hope that this will be in line with the recovery steps and the creation of opportunities for the creation of 4.4 million jobs in 2024," he added.
